NEDA Publication Policy as defined by the NEDA Management Board in May 2020
A NEDA publication is defined as a peer-reviewed article or peer-reviewed conference proceedings article that describes or is based on NEDA data or presents technical developments of NEDA.
Policy for NEDA physics publications
NEDA physics publications, based on results from the NEDA campaigns, may have, in addition to the main responsible author and the ordinary co-authors (those involved in the experiment, analysis, etc.), a number of additional co-authors, which belong to the NEDA Core Author List. For the first NEDA physics publication based on results from each NEDA experiment, all persons on the NEDA Core Author List will be asked if they wish to be included as co-authors on the publication.
Instructions for main authors of NEDA physics publications
Here is a description of the procedure you must use to determine which persons on the NEDA Core Author list that wish to be co-authors on your NEDA physics publication. If you are the main author of a NEDA physics publication, you must follow these instructions before you submit your article to a journal.
- Send the publication as a PDF file by email to Johan Nyberg. In the email, specify which NEDA campaign the publication concerns and a deadline for the NEDA Core Authors to fill in the acceptance webform that asks if they would like to be co-authors on your publication. The recommended deadline is 2 weeks.
- When the deadline has passed, a link to the final list of names and affiliations of the NEDA Core Authors, which have answered yes on the acceptance form, will be available. The final version of the list is available only after the deadline has passed.
- You must include all names on this list as co-authors on your NEDA physics publication.
The setup of the acceptance form and the notification to the NEDA Core Authors of its availability and deadline is taken care of by the administrators of this website.
Policy for NEDA technical publications
NEDA technical publications, based on data from the NEDA campaigns, may have, in addition to the main responsible author and the ordinary co-authors (those involved in the technical development), a number of additional co-authors, which belong to the NEDA Core Author List. All persons on the NEDA Core Author List will be asked if they wish to be included as co-authors on the publication.
Instructions for main authors of NEDA technical publications
Here is a description of the procedure you must use if you want to publish a NEDA technical paper.
- The NEDA data produced during experiments may also be used to produce performance results or to evaluate new Data Analysis techniques by any other member of the collaboration.
- Mansucripts for NEDA technical papers should be sent to Johan Nyberg who will send them to the members of the NEDA Management Board for a check whether they are scientifically sound prior to submission.
When the NEDA Management Board has approved the manuscript for submission you should follow the steps below. This must be done in order to determine which persons on the relevant NEDA Core Author list that wish to be co-authors on your NEDA technical publication.

Information for NEDA Core Authors
When there is a NEDA physics or technical publication that will be passed through the NEDA core author procedure, all persons in the relevant NEDA core author list will receive an email with instructions explaining how to sign up to become a co-author on the publication.
Confidentiality agreement. It is very important that all information in a NEDA publication manuscript, which is submitted through the NEDA core author procedure on this website, is kept confidential until the manuscript has been accepted for publication. This means that the persons on the NEDA core author list are not allowed to distribute the manuscript or to give any information in it to other persons than to the co-authors, whose names are given on the manuscript. Before a manuscript can be downloaded from this website, the core author must accept such a confidentiality agreement.
Note that if there is a change in the affiliation, present address, email address, etc. of a core author, she/he should login to the website and change the information there. When logged in, click on My Account, then on the Edit tab and change the relevant information on the Account and/or Core Author Data pages.
